Darwin Camera Club shoot for ballet school.

My all-time favourite picture, printed at 16×12 inches and hanging with other favourites. Extensively worked in Elements 11: Plastic crate & blockwork joints in rear wall cloned out/painted out, background wall extended up for 4×3 format print. Converted to mono. The girls are viewing an album of photos shot ten years earlier.

Don’s response

It’s not hard to see why Graham Lockerbie is proud of this photograph. Like many good pictures, it can be ‘read’ in a glance — and it is full of intriguing details for the eye to explore at leisure.

Although it’s been manipulated, the adjustments don’t take centre stage, rather they combine to accurately express the scene as the photographer visualised it.
