By Karen Rich. This was one of a series of images taken at Austinmer pool on the NSW south coast. Shot soon after sunrise, it is the beautiful quality of the light that most appeals to me in this photo.

Don’s response
There is something so quintessentially Australian about ocean pools and this one looks especially inviting with its smooth surface and the sea glittering in the distance under benign skies. The low vantage point just makes it all the more enticing.
I like the way photographer Karen Rich has carefully aligned the railing with the horizon line and how she waited to get that playful little burst of spray which, happily, happens to be right where the sky and its reflection have their delicate convergence.
