As you look more closely at this rather striking image, you realise that it is as much a photograph as an artefact of the digital editing process. And I don’t have a problem with intensive re-working when the outcome has artisitc integrity as this does. From the old-fashioned vignetting and sepia tonality to the porcelan-look skin tones, this picture reminds me of a portrait from another era. My only (very) minor quibble is the subject’s slightly blurred right eye.
