This image fairly glows thanks to the stark contrast between the central figure’s almost luminous white headdress and the pure black background.

While I really like the intensity of that contrast, I think it would be interesting to see this image processed in such a way as to provide some hint of the main subject’s left shoulder. It wouldn’t need to be much above pure black either but having some impression of volume in that space would not only diminish the faintly alarming disembodied quality, but it would balance up the shape of the background figure.
