Fujifilm FinePix REAL 3D W3
Fujifilm's FinePix Real 3D W3 is a second-generation model that adds the ability to shoot 3D video with 720p High Definition quality and stereo soundtracks to the basic functions provided by the FinePix Real 3D W1, which we reviewed in December 2009. Aside from some improvements to the 3D monitor and a few adjustments to the body design, nothing else has changed much in the interim - except the price tag, which is $300 lower than the W1's was on release.  ... [more]
Canon PowerShot SX130 IS
The PowerShot SX130 IS replaces the PowerShot SX120 IS, providing the expected wide range of shooting modes, a stabilised zoom lens and support for AA batteries in an affordable body. The sensor is slightly larger in the SX130 IS and its resolution is increased to 12.1 megapixels. The zoom range is also extended from 10x to 12x, mainly at the wide-angle end and covers focal lengths equivalent to 28-336mm in 35mm format.  ... [more]
Olympus SP600 UZ
The 12-megapixel SP-600 UZ is the lower-priced model of two super-zoom digicams announced by Olympus in February. Built and priced to attract bargain hunters, it provides a limited range of adjustments but supports 720p video recording. The 15x optical zoom range is adequate for most family users and dual sensor-shift and ISO-boosting stabilisation reduce the incidence of unwanted camera shake - without totally preventing it.  ... [more]
Olympus SP-800 UZ
When it was unveiled in February, Olympus's SP-800UZ was one of only two digicams with a 30x zoom lens. Claiming the advantage of being the world's smallest in this category, the SP-800UZ boasts a 14-megapixel sensor and was released with a ‘sister' model, the SP-600UZ which sports a 15x zoom lens and 12-megapixel resolution. Reviews of both models will appear on the Photo Review website.  ... [more]
Polaroid Two
We seldom review point-and-shoot digicams unless they include features that are novel or potentially interesting in some way. The recently-released Polaroid Two camera qualified by being the first digicam we've seen with a built-in printer. Ten-sheet packs of 76 x 49 mm ZINK Photo Paper are loaded into the camera body, dropping into a tray behind the lift-up LCD monitor and users can decide which shots to print after they are taken.  ... [more]
Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1
Fujifilm takes a new direction with its FinePix Real 3D W1, the company's first consumer-level digicam capable of recording 3D still pictures and video clips. Relying on the ability of people to perceive depth by viewing objects along two separate planes of sight, it uses two lenses to direct the imaging light to two CCD chips. The resulting data is processed to create a picture that appears three-dimensional when displayed on a suitable screen. ... [more]
Canon PowerShot D10
Designed for photographers who participate in water-based activities, Canon's PowerShot D10 can dive down to 10 metres and withstand being dropped from the height of one metre. Its sealed body also makes it dustproof and able to tolerate temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius. The D10 has the same 12.1-megapixel (effective) sensor as the PowerShot SX200 IS (and several new Ixus models) and sports a 3x optical zoom lens. It also includes Canon's TruCapture technology.  ... [more]
Samsung WB500
The WB500 is the flagship model of a new series of Samsung digicams that introduce a new Perfect Portrait System, which includes Face Detection, Beauty Shot and Smile and Blink Detection modes. Equipped with a 10.2 megapixel sensor and Schneider-Kreuznach 24-240mm 10x optical zoom lens, it sports a 2.7-inch LCD screen and provides a range of shooting modes, including High Definition (HD) movie recording.  ... [more]
