Velbon's New Ultra-Light Tripod

July 21, 2008: Velbon has released a new ultra-light tripod, the V-Pod, which weighs less than 300 grams and is ideal for compact camera and camera-phone users.

With folded height of just 29cm and weighing only 260g, Velbon's V-Pod can carry up to two kilograms in weight. It extends to a maximum height of 1.01 metres and has a ball head with a tilt/pan handle and hinged central column attachment. Each leg is manufactured in four tubular sections with a diameter of 15mm. Legs lick by twisting a section and the V-Pod includes an elevator height lock and pan-head lock.

Available mid-July, the new Velbon V-Pod will retail for around $49.00. It is supplied with a soft nylon carry case and
