Sony Ericsson Launches 12-Megapixel Camera-Phone

September 29, 2009: Sony Ericsson's new Satio multimedia camera-phone combines a 12.1 megapixel camera with a 3.5 inch VGA-quality widescreen display and supports a wide range of multimedia functions.

Weighing just 126 grams, the Satio measures 112 x 55 x 13.3 mm and uses the Symbian Foundation operating system, which means thousands of applications are available online. It will be available in early November at a RRP of $1199. The Satio supports both still and video recording and playback of music and movies. It comes with HBH-IS800 Wireless Stereo Headphones that provide superior sound quality. A Xenon flash and video light provide additional illumination in low light levels and image stabilisation is built in to minimise camera shake. The Satio also comes with smile detection plus an intuitive touch focus control.

A full touch media menu lets users tap directly into favourite items and range from web pages to pictures and media files. Users can transfer video files on a microSD card via a USB cable and view videos with the IM920 Video Viewing Stand.  Image sharing is also easy and users can talk through pictures and create Web albums with messages. Satio also includes a full suite of communications and organiser functions.

Sony Ericsson's Satio supports GSM, GPRS, EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSDPA 850/900/2100 networks. It comes with 128MB of internal memory and a  microSD card extension slot. For more information, visit www.sonyericsson.com.
