Panasonic Halts Firmware Update for DMC-LX3

October 1, 2009: Panasonic has suspended the firmware update service for the LX3 (ver.2.0), which was announced on 28 September.

The company has not issued a detailed explanation for this suspension beyond stating it is ‘for technical reasons'. However, it is believed that minor problems still remain with the 1:1 aspect ratio function, zoom magnification indication, the time display for the internal memory and the on-screen guidelines. Anyone who has installed firmware V. 2.0 and is experiencing problems should use the setup menu to Reset the camera to the default factory settings.

Version 2.1 of the firmware will be available from the Panasonic support website on 20 October, 2009. Go to http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/download/LX3/index.html
