Nikon's Software Updates

November 26, 2009: Nikon has issued updates for its Capture NX and Camera Control Pro 2 software applications.

Both updates are available for Windows and Mac OS users, although the Windows update doesn't support Windows 7. Both updates add support for the D3S camera. Version 2.7.0 of Camera Control Pro 2 includes support for 32- and 64-bit Windows 7 and 64-bit Windows Vista (although the software operates as a 32-bit application). The Mac version adds compatibility with Mac OS X versions 10.5.8 and 10.6.1.

Capture NX Ver. 2.2.3 resolves an issue that occurred when raw (NEF/NRW) images with GPS information embedded were saved in JPEG format. It also solves issues with display of flash compensation value for images captured using Advanced Wireless Lighting and problems when a folder containing images with comments attached using some third-party software applications was selected with Windows and verifying image profiles with Mac OS X.

Both downloads can be accessed through Nikon's Service & Support page at http://www.nikon.com.au/pagearticle.php?pageid=114-03af299586. Click on Software Downloads to locate the files.
