New Samsung Digicams
November 20, 2008: Samsung Electronics Australia has released three new compact cameras with features to appeal to gift buyers in the lead up to the Christmas shopping period.

Leading the line is the 14.7-megapixel
NV-100HD (RRP $599), which is the flagship model of the NV range. Available in gold, silver and black, it boasts a Schneider-Kreuznach 3.6x optical zoom lens with a 28mm (equivalent) wide-angle setting plus a 3-inch hVGA LCD monitor with 460,000 pixel resolution. Features include Dual Image Stabilisation, which combines optical and digital anti-shake technologies plus Samsung's Perfect Portrait System. This model supports 720P HD video movie recording and has HDMI output for playback on a high-definition TV set. A Smart Touch 2.0 user interface provides quick access to key controls and a wide array of creative features and custom settings.

The L310W model (RRP $349) has a 13.6-megapixel sensor and 3.6x optical zoom lens with a 28mm (equivalent) wide-angle setting. Features include Dual Image Stabilisation, Samsung's Perfect Portrait System plus automatic red-eye fix and contrast balance (ACB). The 2.7-inch "intelligent" LCD is used for framing still pictures and video clips as well as reviewing shots. The Advanced Movie Mode offers MPEG4 recording with optical zoom enabled. Self Portrait, Face Detection, Blink Detection, and Smile Shot technology are also provided, along with a Multi Charging System.


The Samsung L310W.
The affordable L201 ($299) is a 10.2-megapixel model with a 3x optical zoom lens and Digital Image Stabilization (DIS). Features include Face Detection, a Self Portrait mode, Auto Contrast Balance (ACB) and a Motion Timer. The L201 also sports a Multi Charging system and 2.7-inch "intelligent" LCD. It is available in classic black and silver as well as three eye-catching new colours - pink, turquoise and lime green.
