LaCie's Rugged XL 1TB Drive
May 19, 2009: LaCie has added a new high-capacity model to its award-winning Rugged portable hard disk drives.

Designed by Neil Poulton and offering one terabyte (TB) of  storage capacity, the new drive doubles the capacity of the former top model in the series. Fully compatible with both Mac and PC, it includes a complete software bundle for easy formatting with LaCie Setup Assistant as well as Genie Backup Assistant for Windows users and Intego Backup Assistant software for Mac users. The new drive features an aluminium casing with a shock-resistant orange rubber sleeve. Internal rubber bumpers provide additional anti-shock protection.

Offering plug & play convenience plus customisable formatting, the new drive comes with Hi-Speed USB 2.0 (480Mbits/sec) and eSATA (1.5Gb/sec) interfaces, enabling it to be used as a fast and reliable data-shuttle between desktop and laptop computers as well as for efficient backing up of systems and data. A warm orange LED strip on its underside tracks data transfer.

The new drive carries an RRP of $299. It is supplied with USB 2.0 and eSATA cables, an external power supply and Quick Install Guide. LaCie Utilities software is pre-loaded. For more information, visit www.lacie.com.au.
