February 5, 2010: Hasselblad has announced a new medium format digital camera with a 33 x 44 mm, 40-megapixel, medium-format CCD sensor and True Focus AF technology.
The new camera will be showcased at special "hands-on" events in over 50 cities throughout the world starting 10 February 2010. The Australian launch will be held at Hatch Studio, Unit 6, 17-21 Bowden Street, Alexandria, NSW 2015 between 6.30 and 9.00 pm on 10 February. For details, phone (02) 9552 8300.
Designed for commercial photographers, the H4D-40 provides an entry point into the Hasselblad system, giving photographers full access to the entire Hasselblad system of software, lenses and features. It claims to be as easy to use as a 35mm camera and includes Hasselblad's new Phocus 2.0 software for processing the huge (around 50MB) raw files the camera produces. Like other Hasselblad cameras, it comes with the company's Absolute Position Lock (APL) processor and True Focus AF system, which includes predictive focus tracking.
The H4D-40 also includes with low-noise colour filters and an 80mm HC/HCD lens which supports a wider depth-of-field and digital lens correction to counteract colour aberrations, distortion and vignetting.
