Google Releases Picasa 3.5

September 24, 2009: Google has released a new version of its Picasa image management/editing software, which is available for Windows OS users.

The new version adds the name tags feature from Picasa Web Albums that enables users to organise their photos based on the people in them.  When Picasa 3.5 scans all the photos in your collection, it identifies the ones with faces and groups photos with similar faces together. Another new function is automatic geotagging, which can add location data to images by licking the Places button and dragging the shots to the location where you took them.

The new version comes with improved uploading and sharing facilities, with the ability to upload to Picasa Web Albums and share with Google contact groups at the same time. Tagging has also been made faster and easier. Picasa 3.5 can be downloaded free of charge from http://picasa.google.com/.
