Firmware Update for Ricoh GR Digital II

August 8, 2009: Ricoh has released a firmware update for its GR Digital II digital camera.

Firmware Version 2.40 adds the following features:
- When you switch from a shooting mode to the playback mode, the camera shows the last picture you played back previously.
- When you playback a still image, you can enlarge the still image with one-push by pressing the ADJ. lever.
- You can set the zoom ratio for the on-push zoom with the ADJ. lever.
- You can switch the functions of the ADJ. lever and the Up-down dial in playback mode.
- You can switch the functions between the ADJ. lever and the Up-down dial in the M mode.
- It also corrects a fault that occurred with long exposures, where the orientation information (horizontal or vertical) of the image may not have been recorded correctly.

A PDF document detailing all the functions that have been added is available from Ricoh. It can be downloaded with the new update from www.ricoh.com/r_dc/download/firmware/grd2/.
