February 19, 2009: A firmware update has been scheduled for the Canon PowerShot SX1 IS in mid-March, bringing raw file capture capabilities to this camera.
The update will be released through Canon's compact camera website (http://www.canon.co.jp/imaging/BeBit-e.html) and also from Canon's Australian website (www.canon.com.au). Canon's Digital Photo Professional software will also be updated to allow raw files from the SX 1 IS to be processed.
