Canon Doubles Memory in New LEGRIA Camcorders

August 19 2009: Canon will add two new digital video cameras to its LEGRIA DV range, the LEGRIA HFS11 and LEGRIA HF21, each offering double the internal memory of previous models.

With 64GB of built-in memory and an additional SD card slot, both models offer users the ability to cover events with Full HD recordings. They also include features like Video Snapshot, Instant Auto Focus and Face Detection for Video, which help users to obtain high-quality footage. Face Detection for Video can identify up to 35 faces in a single frame, tracking each face and automatically adjusting the focus and exposure.

Video Snapshot lets users record four-second video clips, which can be easily arranged into a movie that can be played back with music. Both models come with five songs and users can upload music from their own collection to create the right mood for their movie.

Instant Auto Focus provides sharp focusing on moving subjects and will track them to ensure they remain in focus. The built-in Super Range Optical Image Stabiliser provides protection against vibration and hand-held movement. Both models include Canon's DiG!C DV III image processor.

The pocket-sized LEGRIA HF21 (RRP $1,799) has a 3.3 megapixel CMOS sensor and can record data at the maximum AVCHD rate of 24Mbps. It also supports up to nine hours of recording time.

Both models are scheduled for release from 15 September through Canon dealers nationally. For more information, phone Canon on 1800 021 167 or visit www.canon.com.au.
