PMA Imaging Technology Expo 2007

January 2, 2007: More than photo and digital services companies will exhibit at Asia Pacific's first PMA Imaging Technology Expo to be held May 4-6, 2007 at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The show is organised by the Photo Marketing Association International, and covers over 10,000 square metres of exhibition space plus a major display of photography. All major camera brands are represented, including Apple, Canon, Casio, Contax, Elmo, Epson, Fuji, Hewlett Packard, Hasselblad, Kodak, Leica, Mamiya, Minox, Nokia, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Lumix, Pentax, Polaroid, Ricoh, Rollei, Samsung, Yashica and Zeiss.

A series of conferences for professional photographers, digital image-makers and photo retailers will be held concurrently with the show.

A special purpose build theatre beside the exhibition floor will host the annual quest to find the Professional Photographer of the Year and the selection of the Australian Professional Photography Awards. The judging process will be done in open forum, with free entry for show visitors.

A day before the show opens on May 4, PMA International has organised a special Emerging Technology Day where trade delegates will be given a glimpse of what is coming down the pipe line and how to best prepare for the future.

On the last day of the show a special Print Technology Day will look at news ways of making prints and the potential for large format displays in both the commercial and consumer worlds. Experts from Europe and the United States will be on hand throughout the conference program.

Admission is free for all trade, business and professional visitors if they pre-register - full details and registration information will be available from February 1 at www.photoimaging.com.au. The organisers encourage pre-registration to avoid registration queues and the saving of the $20 entrance fee.
