January 21, 2010: Leica is inviting entries from professional photographers - and aspiring professionals - to submit images for the Leica Oskar Barnack Awards 2010.

Two competitions are running concurrently. The Leica Oskar Barnack Award competition is open to all professional photographers. To take part, participants must send in a series of between 10 and 12 photographs taken in 2009 or long-term projects containing at least one photo from 2009. The Leica Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award competition is open to any (prospective) professional photographer aged 25 or under at the time of entering. The same requirements apply; participants must send in a series of 10-12 photographs  taken in 2009 or long-term projects containing at least one photo from 2009. In each case, only one series per participant will be considered.

All entries must be made via the online Application Form, which is available at www.leica-oskar-barnack-preis.de/#/en/applying/application-form. Submissions will be accepted  between 15th January and 1st March, 2010. The digital images prepared for uploading must be no larger than 1920 pixels wide and 1200 pixels high, but have to have at least one of these two maximum dimensions. The images must also be stored with 72dpi in JPG format in the RGB color space for viewing on the web and none may exceed the maximum file size of 3 MB.
