Call for Entries: 2009 Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition

February 23, 2009: Entries for the world's most prestigious wildlife photography competition close on 27 March 2009 (20 March for postal entries).

Now in its forty-fifth year, the 2009 competition is open to professionals, amateurs and children, with three special youth categories: 10 years and under; 11 to14 years and 15 to 17 years.
The 2008 contest attracted a record 32,351 entries from 82 countries and the best images are on show at the Australian Museum until Sunday 8 March 2009.

The competition is run
by the Natural History Museum, London and BBC Wildlife Magazine. Entry forms are available online at www.nhm.ac.uk/wildphoto. Prize money is £10,000 for the overall winner and up to £1000 for the category winners. Winning photographers will have their images shown in an international exhibition which will be on display at the Natural History Museum, London in October 2009 before touring the world.
