May 8, 2008: Winning images from the 2008 Byron Underwater Festival have been announced.
The event, which took place between 30 April and 3 May, offered more than $20,000 worth of prizes, with competitors in the photo and video section vying for six awards: Best Festival Portfolio (5 images), Best Festival Photograph, Best Festival Compact Camera picture, Best Festival Novice photograph, Best Festival Free-diving/Snorkel shot, Best Festival Video. In addition Neville Coleman Awards were presented to divers who photographed or videoed the most interesting organisms.
