Photo Review tracks the latest digital cameras, lenses and accessories, and also keeps a weather eye on developments in digital video, removable memory and the kind of computer technology that is a pre-requisite for successful photography. We aim to show how technology can be used to improve the way photos are taken, processed and distributed.

Important as the technological dimension is, we believe that the tools are but a means to an end. And that end of course is the photographic image. Whether it be a happy snap at the beach, a meticulously crafted commercial image, or the transcendent vision of an artist, it is the image and the making of it that matters above all. And that's why this site and every issue of Photo Review magazine features a profile and portfolio section for your viewing pleasure and - we hope - your photographic inspiration.

Don first picked up a camera nearly 40 years ago and has been a keen photographer ever since. After completing a degree in English, he migrated to Australia from his native California in the mid 1980s. Since then Don has edited a variety of photographic, trade and consumer titles, and he is the founder of Australia's most popular surfing website www.realsurf.com.

Margaret has been writing about photography for more than 20 years and taking and printing photos since the age of nine. She has edited several trade magazines in the photo industry and written for a number of business publications. Margaret has authored all ten of the popular Photo Review Pocket Guide series and the Choice Digital Photography Guide.
